Request Form for an “I-130 Exceptional Situation”

If you believe you are qualified for exceptional situations listed below that would merit an exception from filing by mail to the USCIS Dallas Lockbox, please submit a request form.  Please note that you may not file a Form I-130 with U.S. Embassy Seoul if you have already filed a Form I-130 with the USCIS in the U.S. for the same beneficiary.

  • Urgent medical emergency
  • Imminent threat to personal safety
  • Aging out of eligibility
  • Petitioner’s naturalization requires a new, stand-alone petition
  • Certain adopted children
  • New transfer with very little notice (Temporarily suspended: Due to limited appointment availability and a backlog of immigrant visa applications created by the COVID-19 pandemic.)

Note:  If your request for exceptional situation is not authorized by USCIS, then you must file the petition with the USCIS Dallas Lockbox.

  • Name of Child, Date and Place of Birth (if NOT U.S. citizen)

  • Applicants/Beneficiaries:
