Resources for Korean Heritage Adoptees
Many Korean heritage adoptees return to Korea seeking information related to birth families and other adoption records. The Korea Adoption Service (KAS), a quasi-governmental organization, has been tasked in part with assisting Korean heritage adoptees with obtaining such information. More information can be found at: http://www.kadoption.or.kr/en/index.jsp.
Adoption agencies and Korea-based nonprofit organizations may also be of assistance with searching for adoptee records. Many of these are listed on the KAS website at: http://www.kadoption.or.kr/en/root/adpt_org.jsp.
*Please note that the links to the KAS website do not constitute Embassy endorsement or recommendation of any of the listed organizations. The U.S. Embassy in Seoul assumes no responsibility related to searches for birth records or other post-adoption services
