Passport Application Status Check
You may check the status of your passport application after four weeks from the date you sent your passport application to us using the Department of State’s U.S. Passport Application Status online application.
Once you’re logged-in to check your application, here are the typical status results you’ll see with an explanation of what they mean:
- Not Available: Your application is on its way to the passport acceptance facility in the U.S.
- In Process: Your application is being processed.
- Approved: Your application has been reviewed and a new passport is being printed.
- Mailed: Your new passport is being sent to the US Embassy in Korea. Please note that shipping time from the printing facility in the United States to you in Korea is typically two weeks. Delivery times may vary.
If you were told to pick up your passport due to special circumstances during your passport interview at the embassy, please visit us anytime two weeks after the “Mailed” date. Our pick up hours are: Tue, Thu or Friday, 13pm – 15pm (except U.S. and Korean holidays). Note: Unclaimed passports will be destroyed after 90 days.
