Secretary Kerry met today on the margins of the Munich Security Conference with Republic of Korea Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se.
The two ministers agreed to continue our close coordination towards a robust and united international response to the DPRK’s violations of multiple UN Security Council Resolutions that threaten international peace and security.
The Secretary reaffirmed the U.S. ironclad commitment to the defense of the Republic of Korea and Japan and noted the vital importance of continued communication and cooperation among the three countries.
The Secretary also expressed his appreciation for the Republic of Korea’s partnership on a range of other bilateral and global issues, including climate change. The Secretary thanked the Foreign Minister for South Korea’s expected participation in the next Our Oceans conference to be held this fall in Washington, DC.
