Welcome to the American Center Korea!
American Center Korea (ACK) is an advanced physical platform for effective public diplomacy engagement with Korean target audiences in support of United States foreign policy objectives. ACK is a physical location and a collaborative laboratory where all citizens can explore and be inspired by new ideas, skills, and opportunities that have the power to bring positive change to individual lives, communities, the host country, bilateral and regional relations, and global challenges. ACK also enhances training and transfer of both hard and soft skills. Through Makerspace, ACK offers hands-on experience with various digital media such as 3-D printers and virtual reality. ACK Youth Coordinators (YCs) are a group of young volunteers at American Center Korea of the U.S. Embassy in Seoul. American Center Korea began this volunteer program in July 2006 to engage with university students and to provide opportunities for YCs to explore U.S. society, history, and culture through participating in diverse public diplomacy programs. After successfully completing one year of volunteer work, YC members receive official certificates from the U.S. Embassy.
American Center Korea’s collection includes over 4,000 books and reference materials, newspapers, magazines, U.S. government publications, and DVDs. We also make available a variety of electronic devices such as laptops, iPads, and Mac computers. Please note that all materials are for in-library use only, and visitors are welcome to use them at any time during opening hours. American Center Korea no longer offers circulation/membership card services.
