Promoting Disability Rights and Sharing U.S. Federal Disability Laws

In commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, Public Diplomacy (PD) Section of the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. Consulate Busan organized two round table discussions on December 5 in Gyeongnam and Busan on disability rights featuring Prof. Michael Schwartz, a deaf lawyer and associate professor of law at Syracuse University.  Professor Schwartz shared his expertise with disability rights leaders and advocacy agency in the region.  U.S. Embassy also distributed copies of “Federal Disability Law in a Nutshell,” a book that provides an easy-to-understand overview of the major U.S. federal disability laws, which was recently translated into Korean through a PD grant.
