On November 6, Busan Consul Gordon S. Church joined Namhae County Mayor Jang Chung-nam in the 75th memorial service for an 11-person U.S. Army Air Corps crew shot down in WWII fighting over South Gyeongsang. The annual event is organized by Kim Jong-ki and Kim Jong-sik, sons of the late Kim Duk-hyung who recovered and buried the crew. In attendance were local officials and civic leaders, including Dr Lee Gyeong-pil, ROTC Chair Park Jin-seo, ROK Air Force Col. Lim Jae-hyun, and representatives from U.S. Army Garrison Daegu.
