Consul Dae B. Kim delivered a welcoming speech at Jangdaehyun School for North Korean defector children, during a visit by Japanese and South Korean students participating in an exchange program administered by “BEYOND Tomorrow.”  BEYOND Tomorrow is a Japanese NGO that sponsors and administers Japan-Korea youth partnership programs to promote understanding between the two countries.  Eleven Japanese and eight Korean high school and university students participated in a wide range of programs in Seoul, Daejeon, and Busan for 8 days from August 17 through August 24.  At the program in Jangdaehyun School, they discussed social issues in their countries with the North Korean defector students.

The programs were sponsored by the Japan Foundation in Japan and co-supported by the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, U.S. Consulate in Busan, Embassy of Japan in Seoul, and Consulate General of Japan in Busan.
