Acting Consul Ronald G. Lay Attends Wreath Laying Ceremony and Delivers Words of Appreciation to Commemorate UN Forces

On July 27, Information Management Officer and the Acting Consul in Busan, Ronald G. Lay represented the U.S. Mission at the solemn wreath laying ceremony held at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Korea (UNMCK) in a Commemoration Ceremony honoring the sacrifices and contributions of nearly 2million U.N. soldiers from 22 countries including the United States to defend democracy and freedom of Korea during the Korean War.  Consul Lay also delivered words of appreciation to the veterans and UN representatives assembled at the UN Peace Memorial Hall to Commemorate UN Forces. Consul Lay described how the example set by our veterans many years ago underscored our duty to protect and preserve freedom. We should honor their sacrifice and draw strength from the courage shown by this great generation, 69 years ago. It will keep the Korea – U.S. alliance strong and resilient.
