U.S. Consul Learns Jinju’s History and Local Culture

On May 11, the U.S. Consul David Jea visited Jinju National Museum located within the historical Jinjuseong Fortress. Museum Director Jang Sang-hoon explained the area’s historical significance and the important role of the Jinjuseong Fortress during the Imjin War (1592-1598). After taking in the museum grounds and the picturesque view of Nam River, the Consul and Museum Director continued the discussion on historical regional relations and South Korea’s evolving museum culture over a famous local variation of Korea’s prized cold noodle soup.
