(Photo Gallery) 500,000 Masks Donated for U.S. Korean War Veterans Depart Gimhae Air Force Base for Andrews Air Force Base

On May 8, 2020, the Acting Consul Peter Yoon at the U.S. Consulate Busan attended the send-off ceremony for the Korean military air flight carrying 500,000 masks (6.5 tons) bound for Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.  The 70th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee and the Korean Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs organized this mask donation to Korean War veterans in the United States, and the Korean Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, the Korean Ministry of National Defense, and the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs lent support to this cause.  The Co-chairman of the Committee said this is just a small token of appreciation to the U.S. veterans of the Korean War who sacrificed their lives to protect South Korea 70 years ago.
