THE WHITE HOUSE
I send my warmest greetings to everyone across the country celebrating Korean American Day.
On this day 121 years ago, the first group of Korean immigrants landed on our shores. Since starting new homes here, these courageous Americans have woven their rich culture and vibrant heritage into the very fabric of our Nation. Today, the United States is home to the largest number of Korean immigrants of any country in the world. Through their steadfast devotion to family and community and their willingness to serve a cause greater than any one person, the strength and spirit of the Korean American community have propelled this land of opportunity toward a brighter future for all.
Today, Korean Americans continue to enrich our country as entrepreneurs, lawyers, public servants, Service members, and so much more. The Korean American community represents the very best of who we are as a Nation. May we continue to honor these proud Americans for all they have done to strengthen our country for many years to come.
As we celebrate this wonderful occasion, we are reminded of the importance of honoring and reflecting on our roots no matter where we are. The immense contributions of Korean Americans everywhere demonstrate that, in our great Nation, there is nothing beyond our capacity when we work together.
